Overview

The early fourth-generation HD trucks remain commercially relevant because they are still widely used as tow rigs and work trucks across Canada. Stock output began around 350 hp / 650 lb-ft in 2010 and later automatic calibrations rose to 800 lb-ft, so a careful tune materially improves towing feel, turbo response and drivability without needing extreme hardware. This older Cummins package is less about headline horsepower and more about cleaner torque delivery and better part-throttle behavior. It is a strong value product when positioned as a reliability-conscious tow and work calibration.

Programming Instructions

The Bosch CM850 family ECU requires bench flashing — direct connection to the ECU outside the vehicle. The ECU must be removed and shipped to AMT Tuning for programming.

  1. Remove the ECU from your vehicle (refer to your workshop manual for location and procedure)
  2. Package securely and ship to AMT Tuning at the address below
  3. AMT will read your stock file and flash your custom tune directly on the bench
  4. Turnaround is typically 3–5 business days from receipt
  5. Reinstall the returned ECU — the tune is active immediately on start-up
