Overview
BMW’s modern B48 turbo four is a very efficient tuning platform because the Bosch MG1 control strategy is deeply torque based and the factory turbo responds quickly to calibration changes. Software alone adds a meaningful jump in midrange torque and sharper transient response without sacrificing refinement. Later locked ECUs often need bench handling first, but once supported the platform delivers strong Stage 1 and Stage 2 results for a daily driven package.

Programming Instructions
The Bosch MG1CS201 ECU requires bench flashing — direct connection to the ECU outside the vehicle. The ECU must be removed and shipped to AMT Tuning for programming.
- Remove the ECU from your vehicle (refer to your workshop manual for location and procedure)
- Package securely and ship to AMT Tuning at the address below
- AMT will read your stock file and flash your custom tune directly on the bench
- Turnaround is typically 3–5 business days from receipt
- Reinstall the returned ECU — the tune is active immediately on start-up
