Overview
The 740i uses the smoother luxury tuned version of the B58 and benefits from software more than the stock calibration suggests because throttle and torque delivery are deliberately softened from the factory. MG1CS024 family logic makes it a practical OBD flash candidate on supported cars, while security status should still be verified on later DMEs. In Canadian cold weather the engine stays crisp and strong, and the added midrange torque is more valuable than headline peak power in this chassis. With basic supporting hardware, it becomes a discreet but very capable Stage 2 flagship sedan.
