Overview
The B48 uses Bosch MG1 management and follows the same locked-BMW logic as the 3.0 car, so unlock status matters before flashing. It has less absolute ceiling than the B58, but the lighter front end and broad torque curve make software gains very noticeable on the road. Intake, intercooler, and downpipe upgrades help the small turbo stay efficient. The outputs below are conservative pump-fuel targets.

Programming Instructions
The Bosch MG1CS003 ECU requires bench flashing — direct connection to the ECU outside the vehicle. The ECU must be removed and shipped to AMT Tuning for programming.
- Remove the ECU from your vehicle (refer to your workshop manual for location and procedure)
- Package securely and ship to AMT Tuning at the address below
- AMT will read your stock file and flash your custom tune directly on the bench
- Turnaround is typically 3–5 business days from receipt
- Reinstall the returned ECU — the tune is active immediately on start-up
