Overview
The early 996 Carrera introduced the first water cooled 911 flat six and brought a more modern, freer revving character to the platform. Software tuning is modest on these cars, but it improves throttle precision, part throttle drivability, and top end pull.

Programming Instructions
The Bosch ME7.2 / early ME7.x ECU requires physical EEPROM chip removal and reprogramming. This is a specialist bench service — the ECU must be removed from the vehicle and shipped to AMT Tuning.
- Remove the ECU from your vehicle (refer to your workshop manual for location and procedure)
- Package securely and ship to AMT Tuning at the address below
- AMT will desolder, read, modify, and resolder the EEPROM chip
- Turnaround is typically 3–5 business days from receipt
- Reinstall the returned ECU — no further programming steps required
