AMT Tuning’s ECU calibration for the Lotus Emira 3.5L 2GR-FE supercharged V6 delivers a serious increase in performance, sharper throttle response, and optional motorsport-style exhaust character, while maintaining OEM-like drivability and safety.

This package includes the ECU unlock procedure required on this platform so the factory ECU can be properly calibrated. Programming is performed on the bench – ECU must be shipped to AMT Tuning.

Stage 1 – Performance ECU Software

Stage 1 is designed for a stock Emira 3.5 SC or cars with mild bolt-ons (intake / cat-back exhaust).

  • No internal engine changes required
  • Calibrated for 91–93 AKI pump fuel (95–98 RON)
  • Focus:
    • Stronger mid-range and top-end power
    • Crisper, more linear throttle behavior
    • Road-friendly and track-capable performance with OEM-like smoothness

Optional: Stage 1 + Pops & Bangs for a more aggressive exhaust note. This is recommended only with a performance cat-back exhaust and high-quality exhaust components.


Stage 2 – Headers / Full Bolt-On / Pulley Upgrade (Track / Off-Road Use)

Stage 2 is aimed at Emiras equipped with headers, cat-back exhaust, upgraded intake and optionally a smaller supercharger pulley.

  • Custom adjustment of:
    • Fuel, ignition and torque strategies
    • Boost / load modeling for higher blower speed
    • Rear O2 / DECAT strategies for catless header setups
  • Calibrated to accommodate additional airflow from:
    • Aftermarket sports exhaust and headers
    • High-flow or catless catalyst solutions
    • Upgraded cold air intake
    • Supercharger pulley upgrades for higher boost (track use strongly recommended)

Because Stage 2 can be calibrated for an upgraded supercharger pulley, the exact pulley size (diameter or % reduction vs OEM) must be specified at ordering time so the calibration matches your hardware and target boost.

Stage 2, pops & bangs, decat and pulley-based high-boost configurations are intended for off-road / motorsport use only where permitted. The customer is responsible for compliance with local emissions and noise regulations.


Hardware Requirements & Recommendations

Stage 1

  • Hardware: Completely stock vehicle is acceptable
  • Recommended:
    • High-flow panel filter or intake
    • Performance cat-back exhaust (especially if selecting pops & bangs)

Stage 2

  • Required:
    • Performance cat-back exhaust
    • Cold air intake / upgraded intake
  • Recommended:
    • Aftermarket headers (high-flow or catless, track use only)
    • Supercharger pulley upgrade (quality pulley, correct belt length)
    • High-quality, heat-resistant exhaust components
    • Strong cooling system, particularly for repeated track use

If a smaller supercharger pulley is installed, consistent high-octane fuel and good cooling are strongly recommended.


ECU Unlock Procedure (Lotus Emira 3.5 V6 & AMG 2.0T)

The Emira ECUs are locked from factory. AMT Tuning offers a bench unlock and tuning service for:

  • Toyota 3.5L V6 (2GR-FE)
  • AMG 2.0T M139

For AMG-equipped Emira with automatic transmission, the 8G-DCT gearbox can also be tuned via the appropriate protocol as part of a custom package.

How the Unlock Process Works

  1. Prepare and Package the ECU
    • Remove the ECU from the vehicle according to proper procedures.
    • Pack it securely with ample padding; the ECU must be well protected.
    • We do not accept any ECU that has been previously opened.

    • Delivery and pickup must be directly to our office, not to a drop point

  3. Unlock & Inspection
    • Our team physically opens and unlocks the ECU using professional tooling.
    • The ECU is thoroughly inspected for tampering:
      • We do not accept ECUs previously opened or modified.
      • If any non-authorized UART/CAN/FlexRay bus analyzers or devices are detected, the ECU will not be unlocked and no refund is possible (fraud detection policy).
  4. Tuning & Programming
    • Once unlocked, we program the requested Stage 1, Stage 2, or custom calibration matched to your hardware, including pulley size if applicable.
    • Bench programming and calibration typically take 3–4 hours once the ECU is in our queue.
    • Typical unlock turnaround is about 1–2 weeks, but please allow up to 2–4 weeks depending on workload and shipping times.
  5. Return Shipping & Reinstallation
    • The ECU is re-sealed, tested, and shipped back via the agreed carrier.
    • You or your installer refit the ECU, perform a systems check, and the car is ready to run with AMT software.
