Overview
The modern Defender 3.0 range spans both petrol and diesel MHEV calibrations, with newer Bosch MG1 and MD1 families depending on variant. These later JLR ECUs are valuable but commonly require bench-oriented access and careful handling of locked software generations. From a product standpoint they are excellent because the big chassis responds very well to torque-focused tuning.

Programming Instructions
The Bosch MG1CS028 / MD1CP007 ECU requires bench flashing — direct connection to the ECU outside the vehicle. The ECU must be removed and shipped to AMT Tuning for programming.
- Remove the ECU from your vehicle (refer to your workshop manual for location and procedure)
- Package securely and ship to AMT Tuning at the address below
- AMT will read your stock file and flash your custom tune directly on the bench
- Turnaround is typically 3–5 business days from receipt
- Reinstall the returned ECU — the tune is active immediately on start-up
